I am quite confused about lighting. A 5200K HQI can emit light spectrum similiar to day light and is suitable for plants. But if the tank is deep, say, more than 26 inches, the light may not reach the bottom of the tank. Some people suggest to use 10000K that can penetrate down to the bottom of the tank. But is 10000K has the required spectrum of light? What is the relationship between colour temperture and light spectrum? Please advise. Thanks....
I am not sure whether the 10000K is better than the 5200K about the light transmit to the bottom of the tank but it seem not likely or not a serious factor.
Visible light spectrum are form violet to red , blue, green, yelloe, orange are in between, the wavelength is arround 400nm-700nm, outside the visible spectrum are ultraviolet, ultrared etc. The combination of different % of color spectrum inside a light make the light have different temperture ....
