Yes, but not directly. The bubbles generated by the air pump will decrease the dissolving rate of CO2. So, the plants inside your tank cannot have enough CO2 as they may need. That affects the growth of your plants.

i have a planted tank using sand, without co2 supply ph=7.7~7.9
i supply co2 (use 2 reactor) to force ph down to 5.3~5.5 24hours and
in the same time using air pump supply air 24 hours too,
all crs, other shrimp, fishes are healty. plants grow very well

fresh333: That's the point - you have to extend the CO2 supply to 24 hours a day which is not normal. Like what I said, the air bubbles affect the dissolving rate of CO2. So, when other people is using 2 bubbles per second for 8 hours a day, you have to keep the CO2 supply 24 hours. In particular, when there are not too many fishes inside the tank, we don't need an air pump at all - that becomes a waste.

Yes, i know that, if i'm not use air pump and maintain the co2 suppy not change,
the ph will go down below 5< (all of the shrimp n fish will die) so i need not as much as
the co2 at ph 5<, then i have adjust it to meet around ph6 then only i can see shrimp come
down on tank bottem. In order to let co2 to meet 80ppm> i have to supply air, so there are
much oxygen in a very great of co2 supply planted tank and keep ph in not big change.

ic. But what exactly do you have inside the tank that makes the pH fluctuate much?

turn off co2 in the next day ph 7>, i feel fluctuate too much.
