I have been using ADA Black Amazonia for more than 1.5 year. The plants was not doing well in the past couple of months.
"It was the best of time" to change.

I have researched for couple of weeks and decided to go for the Seachem Flourite as the 泥.

What is the ph of the Seachem Flourite and is it suitable for raising drawf cichlids as ada black soil does?

It buffers the pH between 6.5 to 6.8 (running water is 7.5).
where as ADA amazonia lower the pH between 5.0 to 6.x.
I stablize the pH to 6.2 with CO2 and pH meter.
The only Dwarf Cichlids I am currently raising are D. filamentosus (Checkboard) and Blue RAM, they seems fine till now.

Thx! it seems that for raising dwarf cichilds preferring lower ph, ada soid is better, no choice.

Borrow a sound of ask, is Seachem Flourite "soil" or "sand"? Does it contain nutrients?

Correction : The pH was dropped between 5.8 to 6.0 at the third day(without CO2) and I need to adjust my pH control for the release of CO2 and add chemicals to increase to pH and kH.

Ken, Seachem claimed that it is a kind of porous clay (fired at high temperature), it contains large amount of Iron and some trace elements. It also claimed that, the amount of nutrients inside can last for years.

To me, it's texture is like mixture of broken stones and bricks, it size is large (2mm to 4mm) with irregular shape, color is natural. The reason for trying this is it won't melt as ADA soil and can last longer (though I may change again before I need to) and I also like to try new things.

At this point of time, I still not sure whether it is good or bad since I cannot find any reference in HK, let's wait and see after a couple of weeks.

Thx Alex Hing, I think SeaChem Fluoride will be good "bed" for aqua plants, since it's particles are large, water can enter easily, this can prevent 敗壞..........
can you tell me which shop did you buy it, since last nite i went to FS, I can only find "fondo vivo" in a shop, but I cannot find SeaChem.......

Ken, I bought it from 長實, though I don't like much about this shop. Their Flourite were sold out and they have only Flourite Red left (I only got 3 pack of Flourite and 1 pack of Flourite Red). It's price is $180 per 7Kg (I think the price in US is about USD 12). I cannot find any other shops in fish street carry this product.

At this point, I won't recommend this to anyone, since I have been using it for one week only. I will provide more information of my tank in the next couple of weeks. Right now my tank is extremely clear (not sure if it is the effect of Dupla Crystal or the Flourite, the plants are showing sign of growth.

I like Fondo Vivo is because it is cheap $40 per 2kg, porous, large size (improve circulation at the bottom), and don't increase the pH and KH. But again, let's wait and see how my tank's doing before making conclusion.
