[問題] 請問什麽GROUND COVER草比較好

我打算在我的110GAL缸裡鋪上GRASS CARPET，但是覺得BABY TEARS,Glossostigma,PEARLGRASS都不滿意，有沒有什麽草是生長的比較細密，葉子細長但是又不太高的，大概1－2 INCHES，謝謝！！

PS.要能在美國買得到得

WOW!!! finally got a reply on this thread, I've post it like wut? 2 weeks already, I bought my ground cover plants already, but anyway thx alot for 草人's opinion!!

If you are doing this in US, most likely you are using silicon sand instead of ADA soil like a lot of planted aquarium here in Hong Kong, it is quite difficult to achieve a dense and short grass carpet, so hold your breath and don't expect too much.

By the way, what is your final choice of plant?

I use Seachem Ecocomplete substrate and the plant for ground cover is Glossostigma..I am planning to setup a discus tank, and almost done.

Seachem Ecocomplete? This is new to me, are you referring to this one?

I don't think the Ecocomplete are marketed under Seachem, I have friends using Seachem Flourite in planted aquarium and have achieved very good result, I'd not hesitate to recommend it to anyone who are planning for a planted aquarium with sand substrate.

By Glossostigma, I assume you are referring to Glossostigma elatinoides, they are nice looking but to make it grow into dense and thick "carpet" like grass carpet, I am not sure if your substrate is good for that. Did you build up a base fertilizer layer underneath your Ecocomplete substarte?

Discus in Planted tank is beautiful for photography, but difficult to maintain, if you want to keep the discus in good condition, you have to feed them and change water very often, so watch out for that.

Eco-Complete is by Carib Sea, it comes with mineral nutrients and said to have live bacteria to help speed up cycle. There is no need to rinse before using. I use it and love it, very good to plant in, looks more natural than Seachem Flourite too. I am not sure about USA, but in Canada, ADA goods are very expensive.

Hemianthus Callitrichoides also makes good ground cover plants.

Great, so I hit onto the right substrate that he mentioned, as I can only find Eco-complete by Carib Sea but not from Seachem. What is the price range of this substrate when compare to Seachem Flourite?

ADA has always been expensive, the latest retail price in Hong Kong is unbelievable when compare to where we was 2-3 years ago. I really would love to try this one out, if it is not too expensive relatively, so it would be lovely if you can post a photo of a planted tank with this substrate, so that we can see the colour and mix of the substrate under water (which might be slightly different).

Ooops... my bad, yeah you are right, it's from caribsea, I dont like Flourite as it clouds the water but ecocomplete doesnt have the problem, it's 25 dollar for a 20lb bag of this substrate

by the way, how come the leafs of my amazon sword turn to yellowish after one week in the tank? I use Flourish, Flourish Excel, Flourish Iron and Potassium and am using as directed, the ph is 6.4, temp 82.

US25 for 20lb bag? That is slightly cheaper then Seachem Flourite, right (not too sure about retail price in US)

The figures are good but information is insufficient to make any suggestion, make you can show us the photo and a detail description of your setup. The plant is newly purchased from shop directly? or through online facilities? Are you sure the plant have been adapted to planted aquarium? A lot of plant in retail shop was farmed in semi-aquarium condition only to speed up the cultivation process, so the plant might need some adaption when plant in our aquarium.
