Thanks for your update. It's been a bit busy lately so I don't check back here as often. I will do a little more research on the substrate. Seachem has a new type and it's all black in color and I've read good result from people from the Kribs as well. And you are lucky for being able to get $9 a bag of profile down there, coz it's freaking expensive down here for the subtrate. Something like $15 for 20 lbs. The cheapest I can find would be from bigals.com. However, it's shipping from Canada. With all the shipping cost... it would be about the same.

How much do you spend on the co2 system? And how many filters do you use? I dont see you are using skimmer right? Your tank is 20g, do you think I shall have more than 65watt for my 30g? All and all, thanks!

I spent about 200.00 on my co2 system. I don't use skimmer because I have an aquaclear running on the surface. I think 2x 65watt bulb would be fine, or you can try use 2x 50 watt bulbs in the same fixture. I am using those 50 watt bulbs they're selling in the US. They're rather cheap.
