copper metal won't react with acid (pls refer to metal reactivity series or electrochemical series)
yup, all heavy metal, including copper is toxic
but it depends on the concentration to determine if it's harmful to fish/human
(so someone will put copper penny/copper pipe in the tank to kill algae, snails, etc)
BUT copper is much more harmful to invertebrates
so if ur shrimps/snails in the tank are ok, ur fish probably are safe from copper
the concentration of copper shouldn't be high enough to cause harm to human beings
(imagine how people would react if they know they're drinking toxic water all day long, as boiling can't remove heavy metal/metal ions)
so i guess the concentration of copper in tap water is not high enough to harm fishes
if u still worry about this
u may use some 新水劑 before you put the tap water into your tank
(as some 新水劑 CLAIMS they can remove heavy metal ions in water)
and if u worry about it vvvvvvvvv much...

use a reverse osmosis system~!!
but this is $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
