Some 除磷劑 will release soluble aluminium on the process of exchanging molecules. That's what kills your shrimps easily, and fish is affected too if in higher level.
IMHO, even those "invert safe" resine do give off something into water in exchange of PO4, and its got to be bad, otherwise, the manufacturer will put it into their promotional leaflet for sure. Find the root of the problem, and deal with it. If a tank is CO2 injected, with highlight, and you are having problem with PO4 and/or NO3, check your tank, its not running properly.
