I have 2 tank. My Arcadia lamp is bought from Mongkok

連嘉珊瑚 -2/F. See the fish street map you can find it. In the middle of the map.

See my comment on T5Ho and T5.

40" tank - Arcadia lamp (4T5Ho) +3 T5
Pls note I still need anohter T5 lamp as on the rear part of plant, they are tall. T5HO may cause alga. I put T5 on rear part and T5HO on front. See my previous picture of 40 inch tank for detail.

The Arcadia is beatuiful. the stand is good and reliable. It can be use for many year.

36" tank - In the past use FL lamp. Now use 3 T5 lamp.

My last picture used FL lamp on 36 inch tank. Once I change to use T5 lamp. Red plant cannot be very red now. I am very disappointed on T5 lamp. If you want 3 lamp Toyo T5 Ho lamp, I can sell to you at lower cost.

On the 40" tank, I used philips, Osram, Narva and a unknow T5HO lamp. I have more than 20 lamp T5Ho lamp at my home. Philips lamp is the strongest one.
They are prefect for Green plant but not for Red plant. Red plant cannot be very red unless it is close to 4-6 inch from the lamp. My 40" tank is 22" high. red plant is very red on the top and not in the middle. It is not because T5HO is not strong but the weak penetration. The middle part of leave are block from the top leave and cannot receive light. HQI light may penetrate thru leaves or thru re-bounce from tank glass surface.

If you like mostly green plant and just one or two red plant in tank, use T5HO. I don't like HQI as I don't like the yellow light color. If you want a lot of red plant and very beatiuful red color and you tank is more than 18" high, use HQI. Otherwise, you will be very disappointed. Personally I like T5HO as I like Green plant especially 太陽草. 太陽草 in T5HO shall be better than in HQI. They like cold color. And it is comparatively easy to control alga in T5HO than HQI.

The Arcadia lamp is hot. Not as hot as HQI. I belive 60 degree. T5HO lamp can use more than 9 month. I change a new with old and do not find significant difference.

However, T5 become weak very quick. I like T5HO and hate T5. I suggest you use ADA lamp if you use T5.

Actually, I prefer your earlier version of 40" tank, this one is more 茂 and 生氣, but the earlier version is more harmony in 造景, IMHO.
