Giving up fishes or plant is no big deal, as you can always come back later, be it 1 years or 3 years.
But give up on friends is not so wise, so why not get together for a break away during your summer vacation, I am sure we can fix a date/time that won't cut into your busy study schedule, right?
I suppose you won't have anything solid going on in next 2 weeks, why not we do that before you start picking up a summer job, maybe you can find something interesting during a reunion gathering.
