水草情迷

mine is 18" tank. if turn the canister with smaller water flow, then bubble comes. If turn the canister with larger water flow, then no bubble. Is it more complicate to control the water flow for the small short tank?

I am afraid that if turn the flow smaller to get bubbles, then the water quality will get poor.

Since the water temp became lower today, the plant with some bubbles. i was turning on 2 tube of t8-15w. but, i turn on three tube today. Seems 迷矮 require stronger light. don't know truth or not, but i am keep testing.
temp is quite important to the growth of the plants. seems the plants are stop growing in the previous couple days, as the water go up to 28-29 degree.
for the water temp, some would make it 22 to 26 degree, as I found from the forum. so, what is the best for plants overall?

I'd say 25c is the optimal temperature for most of the plants, if not all.

temperature is only one of condition affect the photosynthesis, lower temperature with not sufficient light or fertilizer may cause low photosynthesis rate; higher temperature with strong light and enough fertilizer sometimes will stimulate the grow rate in short run. I think some of you may experience occasionally the whole plant with hanging bubble, we call it Christmas tree. Most are because of some factors stimulate the photosynthesis rate, but it not limited to temperature, light nor fertilizer. The rule of thumb is balance.

You have a good start point is by your observation not just superstitiously on figure. I am not against your conclusion, yes, temperature is the most easy to control and a measurable factor than other factor but you have stated that you turn on one more tube and lower temperature then bubble appear, that only means in your tank, under the same flow rate, the photosynthesis rate stimulate by this two factors (extra light and lower temperature) at this time, however, we should also aware of if the fertilizer absorption rate is proportional without lack of any ingredient. I always use hypothesis method to describe the situation, take an example if you are hungry, you would grab whatever can eat and feel delicious, if you already stuffed, a delicious food in front of you may like a junk food. If you are too cold or too hot, you may not sleep well even you sleep on the most comfort bed, so how to provide a balance and comfort zone is more important, plant can feel the changes and react, plant stop grow may be they need time to adapt to the temperature change, or may be they already stuffed. Please understand that no bubble not mean there is no photosynthesis. Only the oxygen release rate faster than the dissolve rate in the water would form bubble, so to push them to react faster for you to enjoy the pearling may just your preference not the plant.

I know you are one of the big master here. any suggestion is good to me, as i am a new learner.
you fill up some penny in my pocket. I will never say anyone against me. the more you speak, the more I learn.
i really know none about plant and fishes. but, keep reading old post to catch up. haha.
yes, temp made me trouble, as I don't have a cooler. but, I will change from this 18" tank to a 4', which i will receive it this week. and i will get a cooler to make my tank more stable. by the time, i would need your help for the design. any defensive word are welcome to make it better. haha.
