水草情迷

各位C 兄, 祝新年快樂

因為覺得d草出泡像較少,覺得可能是CO2 不夠.
現用2秒1泡(用co2杯数,因入邊長期有水,所以可以這樣数!) 另因現在也有CO2 bubble 消散於水面,所以不加大co2 dosage, (因如果co2 不能溶於水中,再多也是白花!..這樣想對嗎?))

今天買了KH tester 一試, KH 是3度 (german hardness), pH 是6.5 (pH 数星期以來都是6.5, 無論加co2 or not! 有點怪)

因co2昨天巳用完,所以冇加co2巳超過20小時,但跟據網上table, 3deg KH and 6.5 pH equal to 29 ppm of dissolved CO2.....不加co2 不可能有這麽多吧!!!

各位c兄有何睇法, 望指點一,二...謝謝

因怕d蝦唔夠氧, 所以都有用隔屎板打氣半日(每天), 不知對co2 溶解有多大影响???

請各c兄指教, 小弟之setup 有冇大問題???!!!

1. Lighting, in terms of wattage, seems ok. But how about your lighting schedule?
2. CO2 is definitely not enough. You should have almost 2 bubbles per sec.
3. When do you turn on your air pump? For how long do you mean by "half-day"? Frankly, if you have sufficient aquatic plants inside your tank, you don't need air pump at all. 'cos you don't have so much creatures inside your tank. And yes, turning on your air pump will affect the CO2 dissolving rate, so the timing is critical.
4. What about your soil base? ADA I/II soil?
5. In fact, you don't need to add any fertilizers for the first 3 months of your tank setup.

And how about the KH value I have measured??? strange reading!! Is it normal value to expect from Hong Kong Tap water, I understand the reading from KH tester might be affected if there are others matter dissloved in the water..

1. ok as long as you don't have any algae problem. But for new setup tank, we usually don't recommend 9-hr lighting at the early stage.
2. This is sort of "wastage" but that's the way it has to be! Unless you have another CO2 diffusing cylinder, you won't have 100% dissolved CO2. Interestingly, some research reveals that plants will absorb more CO2 in the form of bubbles rather than 100% diffused in water. Anyway, the trick is that you have to ensure an effective water circulation, in a way that bubbles can stay long and reach every corner of your tank before they rise to the surface of water.
3. The principle is: don't do it if you don't need it. Do your fishes suffocate without turning on the air pump? If they don't, then there's no need to turn on the pump.
4. ADA is famous for its quality, not just in terms of their rich fertilization, also, the stability of pH, GH... etc. That's is why it is always preferred by aquatic hobbyists.
5. No further comment
